Ice cream round 2, fightcard 3

That was pretty close yesterday! And one of the hardest choices so far, for many people. There were times when I thought mint chocolate chip might pull ahead, but chocolate chip cookie dough maintained the lead, no matter how close it got.

Today, we have another battle with a similar color scheme (green and white!). Huh. I didn't plan it that way. Anyway, I suspect I know the winner of this one, but let's vote and see if I'm surprised.

Okay, I have to say, I thought it would be closer, but congrats to vanilla, who moves on to fight another day.

Today is one of those hard to predict matches. I think both flavors are popular, but I have no idea which could carry the match. Which, I suppose, is what these matches are for. :D So let's get to voting!

Skin care pimpage

I switched skin care regimens for a few weeks and then switched back, and the difference was so dramatic, I saw my skin improve drastically within 3 days. Here's what did it:

L'Oreal Skin Genesis
The serum visibly brightened and tightened the very dark circles under my eyes, smoothed away the slightly open pores above my nose, and reduced my rosacea by about 75%, eliminating the sensitivity completely and evening out the texture and color. Amazing.

I use the serum morning and night, the oil-free moisturizer in the morning, and the night concentrate on my trouble spots before bed. All the ones I have are fragrance-free and disappear into my skin. I look easily 8-10 years younger than I did a month ago, when I was using another brand.

You can get it at any drug store. It's over-packaged, but the results are worth the cash.

Aromaleigh Mineral Makeup
I've tried Bare Minerals, Pur Minerals, L'Oreal, Lorac, Body Shop and Ulta's house brand (which is very good for the price, actually), and this one sweeps the freaking floor with them all. What I love about it:
  1. It gives great coverage but looks and feels natural. You forget you have it on.
  2. It's soothing to the skin, so I'm confident it helped ease up the normally raging rosacea on my cheeks.
  3. It's non-comedogenic, so it doesn't cause zits.
  4. It comes in a crazy huge selection of shades, so I can finally get it in my exact shade of deathly-pale-gold that nobody else makes.  No more blending like mad at the jawline in an attempt to conceal that my face is inexplicably two shades darker than my neck!
  5. They sell wee sample packets for you to try so you can get just the right shade, and the samples are cheap. I've gotten more than a half-dozen applications out of just one. They also send you other free samples of their products to try, which is fun.
  6. They make both the "voile" version (light, airy) great for combination skin and a moister "glissade" version that covers even better, for drier skin.
Be sure to get a good kabuki-style brush to use with it (I adore the one I got at The Body Shop because it's so silky and dense).

Ice cream round 2, fightcard 1

Chocolate rule holds true! Even when it's sort of creamy chocolate on a stick. Fudgesicles took down creamsicles handily. And made people want fudgesicles. :)

Today, we go back to ice cream flavors and we start with a big battle, of a classic and one of the most requested flavors.

Back from the UP

Those of you who have me friended on flickr should go over and check out the fish I caught yesterday. Second biggest bass I've ever caught.

Then I went to the casino and won $120. Hee. Lucky day.

Back to the old grind tomorrow.

One Breath DVD art

Why is it that people who scream bloody murder about the lack of politeness in others are utterly incapable of it themselves in their own backyard?

Frozen confections round, fightcard 4

You know, that was a surprising battle yesterday. I had no idea it would be so close! And as pointed out - a frozen banana is not even ice cream - but obviously it is loved by many. However even with all that support, it couldn't defeat the Choco Taco! Sorry, delicious frozen fruit.

Moving on to the last battle of the frozen confections round, we have two favorites, both on a stick. There's just something perfectly summery about ice cream on a stick.
